Maybe Barry Bonds Can Be An Action Star

At Sports on Earth (a site, incidentally, partly operated by an arm of Major League Baseball), Patrick Hruby is wondering, with some justification, why PEDs will get you thrown in front of a Congressional panel if you're a ballplayer but they're common in Hollywood, where flabby actors have to bulk up and get ripped in a short time for roles. You can't even call it an open secret, because it's not a secret at all. There are differences between sports and movies, of course -- movies aren't the same kind of competition, and looking better isn't a performance cheat. On the other hand, actors are alleged "role models," too. Sports and movies are both entertainment. And taking PEDs to get ripped is a form of cheating over other actors who don't want to take them.
