If That's All It Takes, I Know Some Potential Hall Of Famers

Yahoo! Sports' Jeff Passan reveals here the loophole of the century, a way for minor league baseball players to get onto the big league club's 40-man roster... by smoking pot. Wait, what? Yeah, since the majors have a rule blocking suspensions for testing positive for pot, if a player is headed towards the minor league punishment of a 100-game suspension for a third offense or a lifetime ban for the fourth, and the major league team values the smoker as a prospect, they'll simply promote him. This might be a temporary thing, since the unions are renegotiating the pot rules, but for now, it IS possible for a player to get promoted to the 40-man protected roster just to avoid getting a big suspension.
