Where There's Salt Water Taffy, There's Hope

So, with the Atlantic Club closed, Showboat closing, Revel on its way to closing... is Atlantic City dead again? I mean, if you want to gamble and you're in that region, why go there if you can go to Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun in Connecticut, the Sands in Bethlehem, Sugar House and Parx in Philly, Harrah's Chester... lots of choices without the long drive. Other than the Borgata, the casinos in A.C. are not close to Vegas-level. And the city itself remains a blight. That, to me, is the biggest problem: if you don't want to sit at the tables all day and night, A.C. is a hole. There's little else worth the drive there. There are WAY better beaches nearby. So, what's the point anymore? (USA Today)
