It's Meshuggah

The closing of the last office of the Congress for Jewish Culture is the end of one of the last organizations devoted to the preservation of Yiddish. And while some Yiddish words and phrases are part of the English vernacular by now (schmucks!), fewer and fewer people speak Yiddish. And that's weird, because my mother spoke fluent Yiddish -- it was her native tongue, and she would use it with friends on the phone when she didn't want me or my sister to know what she was saying. But we picked up enough to be able to translate. I wish I remembered more of it. Strange to realize that something that was part of my childhood is rapidly becoming extinct. (New York Times)
