Come To Think Of It, It's Been A Long Time Since I Picked Up An LA Weekly
-
Another piece of evidence for the Print is Dead crowd: The venerable alt-weekly paper, the San Francisco Bay Guardian, has abruptly shut down, and the owner says it just can't turn a profit anymore. Now, in fairness, the owner also owns the rival SF Weekly, so owning two largely identical papers wasn't the best business plan. But, still, the Guardian was an institution. A printed institution. When your plan involves selling print ads, you've got a problem looking forward. (KPIX-TV-KCBS/San Francisco)
