Good News. The Bad News Is That You Have To Use The Miles To Fly American
-
Most frequent-flyer programs have switched to awarding points based on how much you spent rather than distance, which, for those of us who frequently fly cross-country and used to rack up thousands of points per flight and now get a few hundred at a time, sucks. But after American and US Airways complete the merger of their programs, they say they'll still base points on distance, not cost. That's the good news. The bad news is that they won't be giving automatic free upgrades to first class for all but the very top elite level of member. But since I'm not elite in their program, it doesn't matter to me. Do you go out of your way to rack up points? (Philadelphia Inquirer)
