The problem with the Grand Jury not indicting the cop in the Eric Garner chokehold case is that it was kind of cut-and-dried: New York cops aren't allowed to use chokeholds, the force was excessive for the crime (selling loosies), the victim said he couldn't breathe... clearly, the cop overstepped his authority. In the wake of Ferguson, you can't blame people for wondering if cops can be indicted anymore. (New York Times)
