Corporate Welfare Is Alive And Well

An NFL official has informed St. Louis what it already knew: new stadium or the Rams are goners. And they want the city or state to pay, basically, half of the freight, at least by extending the existing bonds... oh, you were unaware that they haven't yet paid off Edward Jones Dome? The place is, what, 20 years old and already obsolete enough to require replacement? Let this be a lesson to all cities faced with an ultimatum for a new stadium from the local pro team: It never ends. (St. Louis Post-Dispatch)
