Pay No Attention To The Fiscal Crisis In Front Of The Curtain
-
Having survived the election, Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback is hard at work trying to distract everyone from his stumbling economic plan by revoking anti-discrimination protections for LGBT state workers. He uses the argument that his predecessor's extension of the anti-discrimination laws "created additional protected classes," as if that's always bad. If someone IS being discriminated against in the state workplace for their gender, race, religion, OR GENDER PREFERENCE, shouldn't that be illegal? If not, why not? Why should it be okay for a state agency to fire or mistreat someone for their sexual preference? What business is it of the state's? (Wichita Eagle)
