He Didn't Think It Was 'Just A Chess Match'
-
Update: When a fifth grader jumped out a New Jersey school window to his death, the initial reports said that one motive may have been his being upset over losing a chess match. Now, after an investigation, they've confirmed that he indeed jumped because of the chess match and being agitated that his opponent didn't "properly" call checkmate. Kids often lack perspective on things, but this is extreme, and it seems -- they don't say it, but his behavior in general indicates it -- that the kid was somewhere on the spectrum in the Asperger's range. And in that case, there's not a lot anyone can do. (Bergen Record)
