The latest campaign to make our lives just a little darker is a literal one: They want to enforce new rules to dim the lights of New York's skyline. And in some ways, it makes sense: You've all wondered why so many offices seem to be lit up at all hours with nobody in them, not even cleaning people. But dimmer might mean less safe, too. And, let's face it, there's a thrill in seeing the bright lights. But energy is being wasted, so... should they turn the lights down or off? (New York Times)
