Gun, Cell Phone... They're All Weapons In The Wrong Hands
-
Police say that a man shot in a confrontation with officers pointed something at them that they thought was a weapon, but turned out to be a cell phone. The man's family understandably believes that he shouldn't have been shot, but if the police are telling the truth, what else can they do? If they don't know whether something is a weapon or not, they can't take a chance. The problem arises when they use this as an excuse even though they should've been able to tell what the victim was pointing. Unless there are active body cams, you'll never get the evidence for or against that. And we know that what the cops say happened and what really happened aren't always the same thing.
