Whenever a security expert uncovers a threat to computers, you get major alarmist articles that bury a salient fact, like this article about a flaw deep in Macs that could let a hacker get control at the BIOS level. The fact that most people -- like, practically everyone -- are not really vulnerable to this hack, that it's aimed at, like, government systems, it requires administrative access to your computer, and that Macs, like PCs only less so, are already vulnerable to much easier hacks is hardly near the top of the piece. Is it a problem? Yep. Needs to be addressed? Yep. Will it affect your MacBook Pro? Nope, except for the OS X update you'll undoubtedly get. So, why the alarms? Well, WWDC time has arrived, so....
