But Do You Want A Rent-a-Cop To Perform A Medical Procedure On You?

What duty do security guards and ushers have to aid people in distress? That's the issue in this case of a man, only 32 years old, who dropped dead of a heart attack at a UCF football game while security allegedly called 911 and then stood around. The lawsuit brought by the man's family says that if they'd used a defibrillator or CPR, he'd be alive. The defense will point at the guy's enlarged heart and heart disease, and say that they couldn't have saved him. But do they owe patrons the duty to at least try? (Orlando Sentinel)
