When You're 17, NOTHING You Get Texted Is Unimportant
-
They know what's wrong, so why do teenagers text while driving? A study says that it's because of FOMO. FOMO? Fear Of Missing Out. I don't think that this is reserved to teens, because everybody, of any age, seems to drop everything to look at their phones when they vibrate or make a sound. 99.9% of texts are unimportant, but that doesn't stop all of us from looking. Ultimately, they're going to have to figure out away for people not to have to look at the phones to see what the message is. Maybe your car will read the text to you, maybe it'll float in front of you on the windshield like Google Glass. But we can't have everybody stopping down to look at the phones while moving at 50 mph. (KATU-TV/Portland)
