Good To Know The Cops Are Targeting The Real Criminals
-
Add this to the long list of local laws that leave you shaking your head: In New South Wales, Australia, a guy discovered that it's illegal to leave your car unlocked. He got a ticket for it. First, he got pulled over for a random breath test -- they can do that there -- and got fined for not having his license with him, so he parked on the street and walked into his house to get his license, leaving the car unlocked for a few minutes with the windows cracked open because it's safe there and he'd done it before. And when he returned, he found another ticket. The law is because insurance companies don't want to be liable for car theft if a car is unlocked because of the potential for fraud. Silly, but now he knows he has to lock up. (Sydney Morning Herald)
