Too Often, You're On Your Own
-
An issue rarely talked about but a huge issue for many people (and growing daily): what happens when adult children have to be their parents' caregivers. Or, really, ANY person having to be someone's caregiver. Because you have a life, too, and a career, and sometimes, when a loved one is incapacitated and requires constant attention and you can't afford professional, full-time help, you're going to have to make some hard decisions. How do you keep your job when you're constantly having to run off and deal with another crisis? You have to be very lucky (and able to telecommute); otherwise, you're going to have a problem.
