Better Than Teaching That Lizards Are Protein
-
Talk about "teachable moments": When a kid in Princeton found a barely-alive lizard in a salad, it might have been a total freakout for everybody at the school. But a quick-thinking teacher nursed the lizard back to health and made it the class mascot, and taught the kids that it wasn't "dirty" when the lizard was in the salad, that it meant instead that the produce was fresh and natural and came from warmer climates at this time of year. That's actually a pretty cool way to handle what could have been a really revolting situation. (Trenton Times/NJ.com)
