So Stop Going And Starve The Stub Hubbers. That'll Bring The Prices Down
-
The New York State Attorney General is going after the event ticket sales business, and he came out swinging: he says that ticket sales are rigged and scalpers get all the good seats. I know a lot of people feel this way, and in some cases, it's probably true. But they are trying different things to stop the scalpers, and all I can say from personal experience is that I tend not to have too much trouble getting tickets at face value for big events. I was even able to get very, very good tickets for Adele at Staples Center when that nightmare of a ticket on-sale day happened, just by going online and being patient. If there are tickets being skimmed off the top, that's wrong, but it seems like the ticket sellers are trying to make it right by doing "ticketless tickets" and multiple Captchas and "waiting room" setups from which buyers are picked at random. If it's been rigged, they're backing way, way off now. (WROC-TV/Rochester)
