Hey, Walmart, There HAS To Be Signage Space On A Building Next To Target Field
-
Both sides can claim some vindication in a judge's ruling that Wells Fargo can keep, for now, signs atop two tall buildings in downtown Minneapolis, but that the Minnesota Vikings may well prevail in their suit to make the bank take down the signs or alter them so they're not so visible. Why? Simple: The Vikings' stadium is nearby. The stadium's naming rights were sold to US Bank. The Wells Fargo signs basically photobomb the new stadium from all angles. You wouldn't be able to get a picture of US Bank Stadium without Wells Fargo's signs looming. Wells Fargo says the signs are OK under their contract with the developer, the Vikings say they aren't. And even if they have to come down, you gotta hand it to Wells Fargo for a pretty amusingly gutsy move. Surprised competitors to businesses with arena naming rights haven't done that everywhere.
