Once again, we try to figure out why fewer young people getting driver licenses, and while environmental concerns and wanting to live in cities with everything within a walk are elements, they're relatively small. So, why? This columnist suggests it's because they're happier bumming rides off their parents, remaining within the womb of their parents' protection while saving money, a childhood extension. Is that it? How did we go from cars representing freedom and kids wanting to drive as soon as they were legally able (or earlier) to this? (New York Post)
