So Close You Could Almost See Your Bags Get Lost On The Tarmac
-
The airline says nothing out of the ordinary happened, but I wonder, because I've experienced something like this: Passengers say that a plane about to land at Fort Lauderdale was within a few feet of touching its wheels to the tarmac when it abruptly went back into the air and circled for three hours, finally landing in Orlando when it nearly ran out of fuel. Fog was blamed, and the pilot said that the tower felt that something didn't look right about the landing. The airline may be right in saying that it wasn't that unusual, because I've been on a plane that was inches from landing when it suddenly rose again, circling LAX for a while because, apparently, the runway wasn't cleared. So, what's your scariest landing story? (New York Post)
