This article warns Minnesotans about "texting Minnesotan," meaning texting in a passive-aggressive manner. That's hardly exclusive to Minnesota (although it's true that "Minnesota Nice" is sometimes used as a mask to hide true nastiness); unlike when a Southerner says "bless your heart" and you can tell from the tone of her voice that she really means "you're a moron," texts can't convey emotion and sarcasm, and emojis can only go so far.
