Some Restrictions Apply. Actually, ALL Restrictions Apply
-
We've previously noted the plethora of department store coupons that come with so many exceptions, they're practically useless. Here's an especially egregious one as noted by The Consumerist: Hotels.com issued a Leap Year coupon with exceptions that exclude most hotels from the promotion. In fact, they printed out the exclusion list just to see how long it would be if printed, and it was 39 PAGES LONG. We see this with lots of coupons -- I got one from Sports Authority that seemed to exclude any brand you've heard of, and I've NEVER been able to use a Macy's coupon because everything was excluded -- and it raises the question of why they bother, because even if it lures someone in once, the experience of being turned down for a discount won't have them coming back any time soon.
