Though Falling Off The Third Floor Wouldn't Be Too Pleasant, Either
-
I hinted when I wrote about the guy who fell off the top of the new skyscraper in downtown L.A. that it was strange he wasn't wearing a safety harness and was not supposed to be working anywhere near the edge of the roof, where barriers would normally prevent anyone falling, anyway. Turns out that there's more to the story: The worker was not supposed to be above the 3rd floor. And he took off his hard hat before the fall. If he jumped -- we don't know for sure, but these details are leading in that direction -- that raises the topic of the selfishness of people who kill themselves in ways that can take innocent bystanders with them.
