If He Really Wanted To Win California, He'd Have Picked A Kardashian
-
Here's the comedy in Cruz picking Carly Fiorina as his VP running mate: If, as this article posits, it was to appeal to California voters, let me just disabuse everyone of this. I live in California, and Carly Fiorina will not -- absolutely not -- draw California votes simply because she's from here. Most Californians are only aware of her existence from her runs for office, WHICH SHE LOST. She doesn't have a hometown advantage here. There are very few California politicians with statewide appeal, and most of them are in federal office. Ask Gavin Newsome and Antonio Villaraigosa how easy it is to translate local California political success to a national stage. (Although Lord help us if Hillary Clinton picks Villaraigosa as her veep -- he makes Dan Quayle look like Watson the IBM computer.) (Washington Post)
