Nice Place If You Don't Like Having Neighbors
-
Here's a city in South Korea that has everything -- modern skyscrapers, parks, a total urban plan -- except for one thing: people. Oh, about 100,000 people live there, but that's half what they expected. See, they built this thing as a paragon of urban planning, but they built it just far enough from Seoul that it's too long a commute and just close enough that businesses don't need to move there, so nobody wants to live there. And that's the one thing urban planners always forget when they have these ideal city concepts with people living in tall skyscrapers on top of each other: Utopia to an urban planner is not how real people want to live.
