The topic coming from this story about a crash involving a Tesla Model X, the owner's insistence that the car's semi-autopilot was to blame, and Tesla's response that its on-board system determined that it was driver error is this: Cars are increasingly tattling on drivers. It's like black-box technology but more extreme. They can tell if you made a mistake. They can tell how fast you were driving, and where and when. They can tell everything. Are you comfortable with that? Is this a case of "only the dishonest have anything to fear" or is this a sort of Fifth Amendment violation? (The Verge)
