To Some Businesses, You're Just One Big Wallet To Empty
-
Comcast is putting a data cap on more of its home internet subscribers, this time in Chicago, and although it's a high cap - 1 terabyte, probably more than 99% of users now use in a month - the door's been opened and, at some point with increased use of streaming media, you will end up facing overage costs. The maddening part is this: It's not like there's really a crisis in bandwidth or that Comcast is losing money with unlimited streaming. To the contrary, they're profitable for that. What they're worried about is the money from cable TV drying up as more people cut the cord, so they're looking to get money out of you in other ways, like this. And they will. And you'll pay.
