Sorry For Your Loss. Now, About My Commission....

When is it appropriate to approach a grieving person with a business proposal? Let's be more specific: Should a pair of Realtors have sent a sympathy card to a grieving husband with an offer to sell the widower's house when the time is right? I think it went a step too far. A card is borderline if you don't really know the person, but the pitch to talk about selling the house presumes that the widower would want to sell, and is kind of telling him, hey, you're solo now, you don't need all that space. Which is crass. (CTV News)
