You're Cutting Back? More For Me
-
Says here that Americans "aren’t eating burgers anymore," which is cited as a reason for the sudden slowed growth of the "better burger" chains like Five Guys, Smashburger, and Shake Shack. And, yes, people ARE cutting back on beef consumption, but is the problem that people "aren't eating burgers anymore" or is it just that there are too many of these places around? I mean, around here, we have so many good chain burger places, from In-and-Out and Five Guys to The Counter, Umami Burger, Smashburger... and local joints, and places like Islands and Ruby's, and, well, you can find a good burger practically everywhere. You can't even settle on one choice because there are so many decent options. So no wonder none of them is breaking out. (New York Post)
