You know, it's always in the back of my mind when I see those double-decker open-air tour buses roaming Hollywood and Beverly Hills that it seems a little, oh, I don't know, unsafe for people to be sitting on what's basically an open roof on a bus in traffic -- in an accident, you could be either thrown off the top or, if there's a rollover, you'd be toast. Sure enough, this TV news investigative report is about the U.S. Department of Transportation telling the tour operators that they shouldn't be on the road with those modified, topless vans and buses, because, as I suspected, they're hella unsafe. You'd think this would have come up before. (KNBC-TV/Los Angeles)
