Bittersweet. Okay, Mostly Bitter

C&H sugar is the dominant brand name in the Western U.S., and C&H stands for "California and Hawaii," because the company grew the sugar cane in Hawaii and shipped it for refining and distribution in California. But, alas, times and trade arrangements change, and now the last Hawaiian sugar mill has closed and C&H, which has been mostly sourcing its sugar from foreign countries, will no longer reflect the "H" in C&H. Sad. Bonus points if you remember the C&H jingles. Oh, here they are. (East Bay Times)
