Thirty Bucks At A Restaurant Or Three Bucks For A Lean Cuisine? Hmmm
-
On the ropes: The restaurant industry, with some chains closing stores or declaring bankruptcy. Why? Several reasons, one of which is expense (including the rising minimum wage, which may not apply to wait staff but does to everyone else), leading to higher-priced meals at a time when food prices for cooking at home are declining. And rents are up. Also, people's tastes are changing -- restaurant chains are having a hard time keeping up with that. And there's customers' economic uncertainty. Are you eating out less these days?
