The Kind Of Story He'd Have Told Over Beer And Bait
-
Bill Curtis was a fishing guide in South Florida, the guy everyone -- celebrities to regular folk -- used to zero in on the best bonefishing in the Keys. He died, and his friends and family planned to scatter his ashes, appropriately, at sea. Can't do that now, though: Someone broke into a pickup parked at a bar and stole his ashes. But here's the weird thing: Whoever stole the box with the ashes left other valuables, including a laptop in plain view on the console, untouched. The thief popped a window out of its frame, grabbed just the box, and ran. Did they know what they were getting? Because the family says there were no feuds that they know of, no reason someone would want to take the ashes... but someone did. (Miami Herald)
