The latest Gallup survey shows an uptick in the number of people who say they do work from home, although it's still not as widespread as I thought it would be by now. So it's time again to ask why telecommuting isn't really, really common. It would reduce traffic and environmental impact, and it can have a positive effect on production, especially when workers aren't drained by spending hours in traffic.
