Do They Even Know They HAVE A Ski Lift Out There?
-
Lawsuit: A teen stranded on a ski lift fell off after waiting for rescue and crawled off in the snow to seek help. He got frostbite and broken bones, and his family contends that he only jumped because he was trying to avoid freezing to death. The ski resort's defense is that they were indeed looking for him and just minutes from rescuing him. Here's the thing: it was several hours. How long do you have to wait in 14 degree weather? The family says that the kid's screams were drowned out by snow-making equipment and winds, but how does a ski resort not know that one of its lifts is stuck? Can't they tell? (Charlotte Observer)
