All I Want Is For Waze To Stop Telling Me To Make A Left Turn Onto Melrose Without A Light

What, we're talking about Waze sending people down residential streets again? Cities, it says here, are trying to fake out Waze by changing traffic patterns and putting in obstacles like narrower streets, speed bumps, one-way signs, etc. to game the algorithms. And Waze will adjust, because it always does. And the cities will change things again, and so on. It's another case of technology outpacing everyone's ability to adapt; you want open, free, quiet neighborhoods, and Waze aims to use them as shortcuts. (USA Today)
