A Different Kind Of Wall Around The Country
-
Increased customs "vetting" has led to this: Customs may be asking tourists, even from our allies like the U.K. and the rest of Europe, to hand over passwords to their devices or be denied entry into the U.S. We've already seen stuff like this happen at random, even at the Canadian border. And they can take the device into another room and do whatever they want. Experts on security advise you to wipe apps off your devices and reinstall once you get where you're going, or use burner phones, or just leave everything at home and buy a burner when you get to your destination. This is kind of insane; how can people who have to do business even travel anymore? (The Guardian)
