Because You Don't Give Them Enough At The Tables. Or In The Restaurants. Or....

It wasn't even a year ago that MGM Resorts in Las Vegas broke the longstanding custom in Vegas and began charging -- a lot -- for parking at its casino/hotels on the Strip. Now, they're raising prices, and that's got users AND valet parkers upset, the former because it's already too expensive, and the latter because they raised the rates to levels that mean people will pay without getting change back, change that usually turns into tips. As a business traveler to Vegas on a regular basis, I can tell you that this seals something I've been doing since the parking fee took effect: I'm no longer renting a car or driving up. I'll take an Uber or cab. Which means I won't be spending as much time/money off the Strip (sorry, Summerlin; adios, Anthem; hasta la vista, Henderson). AND I won't pay the parking fees. They already get involuntary "resort fees" out of us. (Las Vegas Review-Journal)
