Does CBS Do That For '60 Minits'?
-
Last week's "NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt" wasn't included in the show's full-year ratings. That's because it wasn't the "NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt." Oh, the show aired and Lester was on it, but it wasn't called the "NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt." It was the "NBC Nitely News with Lester Holt." even though, if you watched it, the title was spelled correctly on the screen. What the hell? It's simple: By submitting a different title to Nielsen, the week's episodes became, to the ratings computers, a different show, even though it wasn't. Networks do that when there's a stretch of programs they want to exclude: in this case, the Stanley Cup finals shuffled the schedule around, especially here on the West Coast. I didn't know they'd let you do that, but they do. And now you know. (Deadline: Hollywood)
