Maybe It Was Another Russian Sabotage
-
This long, detailed article timed for the NBA Draft discusses what we now know to be a bad trade but is termed in this piece the worst NBA trade ever, the Brooklyn Nets trading a load of future draft picks to Boston for Garnett, Pierce, Terry. In fairness, many basketball fans, including myself, thought it was a terrible trade at the time; past-prime players in one futile stab at a championship run for a team owned by a clueless but publicity-hungry Russian oligarch, traded for what would turn out to be valuable building blocks the Nets would never get back. If you talk sports, you can't go wrong with a "what was the worst trade ever?" topic in any sport, but this one has to be one of the worst of all time. (New York Daily News)
