Hey, You're Blocking My Dog's Access To The Hydrant

A lot of cities have quirky parking, especially when there's not enough parking in certain neighborhoods, whether it's South Philly people parking smack in the middle of Broad Street or Brooklynites double-parking "just for a few seconds" even if it blocks the street or San Franciscans... well, I don't know WHERE they park. But in parts of L.A. like Koreatown or Westwood where parking is REALLY tight, they park on the apron -- that's the grass strip between the sidewalk and the curb. There's a law against it, but a couple of years ago, they stopped enforcing it while they tried to figure out how to handle things. Now, they're about to enforce it again, and people are at a loss as to where to put their cars. Some places just weren't built for the automobile age. (Los Angeles Times)
