You're Better Off Ordering From Amazon Like The Rest Of Society

The curse of things like Kickstarter and the like is that people are more willing to put money up front for things that may or may not ever happen. In this case, not a Kickstarter but in the same vein, a company promised really kick-ass wireless earbuds, produced only a few pairs that got scathing reviews, then folded, keeping everyone's money. The customers are suing, but the money's gone. Wouldn't it be smarter to wait until there's a product before handing over your money? Is the whole concept of having customers fund your R&D and manufacturing rather than you going out and getting investments faulty? (SFGate.com)
