How do you get everyone to pay attention to a study that basically says what we already know? Tie it to a juicy hook, like this Australian study about the dangers of a sedentary lifestyle that's billed as showing that TV binge-watching is killing us. The more you watch TV, they say, the greater the risk of inflammatory diseases like Alzheimer's and diabetes. Which is the same as saying that the more you sit, the less active you are, the more likely you'll be unhealthy, which we already know and which could also result from sitting while working. So, by all means, get off your butt and exercise more. Maybe you can watch TV on a treadmill. (News.com.au via New York Post)
