The thing about the passing of soul belter Charles Bradley after a recurrence of cancer at 68 is that his career basically started when he was already older, and his success was really in the last five years; before that, he was in all kinds of jobs, and worked as a James Brown impersonator. The question is whether he's an outlier or proof that it's never too late to start a new career. Oh, and another question: is delayed success and adulation better than or worse than peaking early?
