They Might Be Better Off If He Doesn't Say A Word

The San Francisco Chronicle ran an editorial Sunday asking a question that had occurred to me as well while all the horrific news about the wildfires in Napa and Sonoma was coming in: Where’s the president? Other than a very brief, perfunctory comment when the Pittsburgh Penguins were visiting the Oval Office, Trump hasn't said a word. That's not to say that the federal government's doing nothing -- emergency funds were approved -- but when the President has a lot to say about Texas and Florida but denigrates Puerto Rico and clams up about California, it comes off as... well, let's just say that he knows where his votes come from and where he's less than popular.
