Let Him Sit For A While. We Can Survive With TJ And Bayless (And JoJo And Ben)
-
Okay, here's where I get to indulge my sports fandom because this is, after all, my column. So we find out not from the Sixers but from his agent that the reason Markelle Fultz has been refusing to take jumpers and his free throws have been embarrassing is that he had fluid drained from his shoulder before the season and can't raise his arms. Which doesn't explain why he IS able to raise his arms when he tries to force his way down the lane and get a layup. And also doesn't explain WHY HE'S NOT ON THE DISABLED LIST. If he can't shoot, why is he playing? Why are they not being honest about any of this? Are the Sixers that embarrassed about having another top pick sit out an injury? After all, Embiid and Simmons did that but it's all working out now, isn't it? UPDATE: Now the agent is saying that it wasn't drained, it was a cortisone shot. Which only makes it weirder that they didn't say so from the beginning and aren't resting him. Something smells weird about this. (ESPN)
