Not 'State Media' Enough

Only this administration can manage to make a huge piece of media consolidation look good -- no, not Sinclair-Tribune, but AT&T-Time Warner. How? With the DOJ's threat to force the merged company to sell CNN or DirecTV, even though there is absolutely no law on the books that would prevent the companies to hold both. In fact, the companies' businesses don't really overlap, and other mergers (Comcast-NBCU, for one) have had far more overlap with no forced divestitures. Now, why would the DOJ want CNN sold? Hmm...
