This Is Not The Path His Guidance Counselor Recommended

It was a typical, tragic gang shooting in South L.A., with one twist: The teen accused of being the getaway driver is from an affluent town and was raised in a typical affluent home. It happens to be my area, so I can affirm that it's really a departure for a kid from these towns to be involved in gang activity. What has to happen for a kid from the "right side of the tracks," so to speak, to end up involved in gang murders? Is this thrill-seeking or something deeper? (KABC-TV/Los Angeles)
